Rosie O’Donnell Buys $4.6 Million Los Angeles House – DIRT

Over the years, Rosie O’Donnell has bought and sold more than a dozen homes spread across the East Coast, from Connecticut to Florida. Those investments haven’t always worked out well for the occasionally controversial comedian and talk show host — earlier this year, she lost about $2 million on the sale of two upstate New York properties. And back in April, O’Donnell took a million-dollar hit on the sale of her New Jersey mansion, which finally found a buyer after years on the market. (The new owner has since demolished that huge but rather ungainly house.)

Despite her long showbiz career, it does not appear O’Donnell has ever owned a California home. Until last week, that is, when records reveal she somewhat surprisingly splurged on a lavish property in prime Los Angeles.

Located in the family-friendly Beverlywood neighborhood, immediately south of Beverly Hills and adjacent to Cheviot Hills, the new O’Donnell estate is practically brand-new. Built in 2019 on speculation by a local developer, the home was sold that same year for about $3.3 million. The buyers — a non-famous married couple — then lucratively chose to flip the house; records show O’Donnell paid their full $4.6 million asking price.

With 4,100 square feet, the two-story house is certainly large if not quite mansion-sized. It’s also very on-trend, with its modern farmhouse style accented by its aggressively two-tone exterior — unvarnished redwood on top, charcoal paint below. There are five bedrooms, all of them with ensuite baths; the two-car garage boasts built-in storage cabinets and a Tesla charger. Naturally, there’s also a top-of-the-line security system complete with alarms and multiple cameras.

Ron Wynn and Brett Raskin of Compass held the listing; Alexandra Flynn of MS Property Partners at Keller Williams Beverly Hills repped the buyer.
